Our Green Innovations are based mainly on the following concepts:

Power Saving can be achieved by intelligently monitoring the links in a network - to reduce power to idle ports and using reduced power on links that have shorter cable lengths. Power consumption on products with PoE feature can also be optimized by time based scheduling of devices which need not be always on.

In the same way, WLANS can also be scheduled to be powered only when needed, achieving a saving in power as well as increasing security against attacks on the WLAN when not in use but left powered and always on.

Hard Disks that are constantly in motion even when not being accessed are another source of extra power consumption and heat dissipation, reducing product life. Like Hard Disks, cooling fans running when systems are running at alow temperature can be made to either switch off or run at a lower speed to reduce power consumption. A better alternative would be a fanless design whereever possible.

These are just a few concepts around which Green products can be innovated. There are many more possibilities which are being explored and will be built into the products.
